Trade shows are one of the highest-ROI investments in wholesale - and one of the easiest ways to waste money. The difference is knowing which shows are right for your brand, your buyers, and where you are right now. 35+ shows across the US, UK, Europe, Scandinavia, Asia Pacific, ASEAN, and Australia. Gift, lifestyle, fashion with gift area, stationery, and travel retail. All costs in USD.
A note before you start
2026 dates are verified. 2027 dates are confirmed where organizers have published them, noted as approximate where they haven't. Booth costs are ranges - always confirm directly before committing. Currency conversions: GBP ×1.27, EUR ×1.10, CHF ×1.11, AUD ×0.63, CAD ×0.73.
Show Tiers Explained
The buyers who attend Shoppe Object are not the same buyers who attend Spring Fair. That sounds obvious, but it's the single thing most brands get wrong when budgeting their first show season. Getting the tier right is the difference between writing orders and writing off the trip.
Tier 2Premium Professional
Travel RetailDuty-free / Airports
| Tier | Who Gets In | Buyer Type | Best Stage | Reorder Quality |
| T1 Curated | Juried or curated - not everyone accepted | Design boutiques, museum shops, concept stores, press | Design-forward brand at any revenue stage | Highest |
| T2 Professional | Open application, quality filtered | Independent retail, regional chains, distributors, international | Ready to scale wholesale volume | High |
| T3 Broad | Open - most brands accepted | Full range from mass to mid-market independents | Volume growth stage | Medium |
| T4 Mass | Open | High-volume independents, buying groups, importers | Mass distribution | Lower |
| Travel Retail | Trade accreditation required | Airport operators, duty-free buyers, concession managers | Established brand with travel-appropriate product | Varies |
Shoppe Object vs. Spring Fair - the clearest example
Shoppe Object is juried: 850+ carefully selected brands, buyers from 65 countries. The accounts in that room are specifically looking for independent, design-forward product. They reorder. Spring Fair is the UK's largest gift show at 2,500+ exhibitors across every price point - enormous reach, completely different buyer. Neither is better than the other. They serve completely different business goals. Know which room you're trying to be in before you book the booth.
United States Shows
New York in February is the gravitational center of US wholesale for independent brands. Shoppe Object and NY Now run the same week, a short walk apart, to completely different rooms. Choose both if budget allows. Choose one if it doesn't - and Shoppe Object is the answer for most design-forward brands in 2026.

Buyer Profile
Design boutiques, museum shops, concept stores, hotel gift shops, interior designers. 25% more interior designers in 2026 vs. prior year. 35% of exhibitors show here and nowhere else in the US.
On Stationery
The National Stationery Show was absorbed by NY Now. Best stationery buying - and the buyers who matter - are now at Shoppe Object.
The most important wholesale show in the US for independent gift and lifestyle brands. Booth cost scales with size - a 6×6 runs around $5,000, a 12×24 runs close to $29,000. Budget it honestly before you apply. Getting accepted signals quality to buyers before they even see your line. Apply before you think you're fully ready. The brands with the best positions got in early.

Buyer Profile
Broader US retail mix: independents, regional chains, some department store buyers. The show runs a shuttle service to Shoppe Object. That tells you something.
On NSS
NY Now absorbed the National Stationery Show. The stationery category exists at the show, but buyers who care about stationery have largely moved to Shoppe Object.
NY Now has been losing premium exhibitors to Shoppe Object steadily. It still makes sense for brands targeting a broader buyer mix, or brands not yet accepted to Shoppe Object. Running both the same week is viable - they attract genuinely different buyers. If you can only do one, Shoppe Object is the right call for most independent brands in 2026.

Four markets a year is the most frequent feedback loop in US wholesale. Strong Texas and South-Central buyer base. Good for building a Southern US account base, or testing product and pricing without waiting six months for the next show.
United Kingdom Shows
London and Birmingham are different rooms. Top Drawer in London is curated, design-forward, independent boutique buyers. Spring Fair in Birmingham is the UK's largest gift market, broad and volume-oriented. Harrogate sits in between - good independent buyer quality, relaxed format, easier to build relationships. PG Live and the London Stationery Show are specialist shows that do their job well if the category is right.
If you're not based in the UK
Start with Faire before you book a show. The platform handles VAT, customs complexity, and shipping logistics on the retailer side - and shipping through Faire to UK buyers is typically cheaper than direct, even with a corporate courier discount. Once you have 15+ UK accounts, a show starts to make sense. A dedicated international guide covers UK-specific options in full.

France: M&O, Who's Next & Shoppe Object Paris
Paris now has two wholesale platforms that matter for gift and lifestyle brands. Maison & Objet is the established international show - scale, prestige, global distributor access. Shoppe Object Paris is the new entrant already running three editions in 2026. Who's Next brings 60,000 fashion-adjacent visitors to the same buildings during Paris show weeks. All three overlap in January and again in September.

For First-Timers
The "Now!" section is designed for new and emerging brands - highly visible within the show, well-attended by press and buyers specifically looking for discovery. It's the right first entry before committing to main hall costs.
The show for building European credibility and meeting international distributors. Total cost to exhibit as a US brand - booth, travel, freight, and Paris accommodation - runs $15,000–$35,000 realistically. Go when you have a strong line and clear European pricing. "Now!" is the smart first move.

European design boutiques, concept stores, museum shops, interior design accounts. Embedded in Who's Next trade week, so 60,000 fashion-adjacent visitors flow through. October during Paris Fashion Week adds press presence at a different level.
vs. M&O
Same Shoppe Object editorial DNA - juried, curated, for independent brands. M&O is scale and international distributor access. Shoppe Object Paris is the same quality buyer relationship that makes the NY editions work, but in Paris. Different missions, both worth it at the right stage.
The inaugural Jan 2026 edition confirmed the concept works. For brands already at Shoppe Object NY, this is the natural European counterpart. Three editions in 2026 is unusual flexibility for a show this young. Get on their list for 2027 applications now - the early-mover advantage is still real here.

Fashion buyers from multi-brand boutiques, department stores, and e-commerce platforms worldwide. 70% are retail, multi-brand, or department store buyers. Strong accessories, lifestyle, and beauty buyer presence. Journalists, stylists, and trend agencies in large numbers.
Why Gift Brands Should Know This
Who's Next runs a dedicated "Villa Beauté & Lifestyle" section. Brands exhibiting at Shoppe Object Paris are inside the same building as 60,000 fashion-adjacent visitors. Gift brands with a strong design or accessories crossover reach a buyer pool they'd never find through traditional gift channels.
The leading European fashion and accessories trade show, run by WSN - the same group that organizes Shoppe Object Paris. That strategic link is intentional. Even if you're exhibiting at Shoppe Object Paris rather than Who's Next directly, knowing that 60,000 fashion professionals are in the same building changes how you approach the show.
Germany & Netherlands
Germany has the highest density of gift and lifestyle shows in Europe. Frankfurt in February is the biggest single stretch - Ambiente, Christmasworld, and Creativeworld all run simultaneously, 4,636 exhibitors across three co-located shows. Munich, Hamburg, and Frankfurt provide year-round options at different scales and buyer bases. Pick your entry point based on which buyers you're prioritizing.

The Three Shows
Ambiente: Consumer goods, tabletop, kitchen, home - book within the "Giving" zone for gift focus. Christmasworld: Seasonal decoration, festive, floristry. Creativeworld: Craft, DIY, art materials. One trip covers all three.
The show for serious international distribution ambitions. In a show this size, your location within the building matters - research which hall places you near your category before booking. One trip to Frankfurt in February can cover more ground than three separate international trips.

The Dutch independent boutique scene has exactly the buyer profile that becomes your best reordering accounts. Lower cost than Paris or Frankfurt, genuinely curated buyer quality, and a twice-yearly format that makes building Dutch market momentum practical.
Sweden, Norway & Denmark
Scandinavia is one of the strongest gift and design markets in Europe relative to population. The aesthetic bar is high, the buyers are deliberate, and the accounts that commit tend to stay. All three countries have dedicated shows running in January/February and again in August - which lines up well with the broader European trade calendar.

Switzerland, Italy & Spain
Three markets, three completely different show cultures. Switzerland's ORNARIS is tight, high-quality, and genuinely twice-yearly in different cities. Milan has two shows serving different purposes: Milano Home for wholesale ordering, Salone del Mobile for brand positioning and press. Spain's Intergift covers Southern Europe at practical cost. None of them require you to have done Ambiente first.

On Austria
Austria doesn't have a dedicated national gift trade show at the scale of ORNARIS or Intergift. Austrian buyers and brands predominantly attend TrendSet Munich and Ambiente Frankfurt - both have strong Austrian representation. Blickfang is worth knowing: a curated independent design fair running editions in Vienna, Basel, Zurich, Hamburg, and Stuttgart (blickfang.com). It skews closer to consumer sales than pure B2B, but for design-forward brands it's a useful brand-building event in the German-speaking market.
Travel Retail
Travel retail is a completely separate channel with its own buyers, economics, and rules. Airport and duty-free buyers operate on different criteria than independent boutique buyers. If your product travels well - compact, premium, strong impulse purchase appeal, fast story at point of sale - this channel is worth serious attention. TFWA Cannes is where you reach the people who control those doors.
Is travel retail right for your brand?
The channel works best for products that are visually compelling at POS, compact enough for carry-on, positioned premium but not fragile, and capable of telling a fast story without needing context. Gift, stationery, small home objects, and fashion accessories all have real travel retail potential when the product is right. The buyers - airport operators, duty-free concessionaires, inflight retail managers - run multi-location retail operations. Order quantities are typically larger and compliance requirements more demanding. For most small gift brands, the economics of exhibiting only make sense once you've had confirmed travel retail distribution interest first.

Japan and Korea are sophisticated, rewarding gift markets. They are also high-context markets where a local partner almost always makes the difference between traction and frustration. Australia and Canada are operationally the most accessible international markets for US brands and are worth pursuing through Faire before committing to show travel.
Japan and Korea - partner first
For US and European brands, Japan and Korea are almost always entered via a local distributor or agent before attempting trade shows. The shows below are where you meet those partners - or signal to them that you're serious about the market. Visit the show as an attendee first. Exhibit once you have someone on the ground who knows what they're doing.

Canada is the easiest international market for US brands - CUSMA simplifies duties, Faire works well, and the cultural alignment is strong. Build Canadian accounts through Faire first. Toronto makes sense once you have meaningful Canadian volume. Ontario and Eastern Canada buyer base.
