Plan & Billing Cycle
Select your plan
Using Shopify Payments eliminates the additional platform transaction fee on all plans. With third-party (PayPal, Stripe, etc.) you pay an additional 0.20%–2% depending on plan.

Gross merchandise volume before returns and refunds.
Used to calculate monthly order count and per-order fees.
Returns reduce net revenue but do not reverse processing fees on most plans.
Orders using Shopify Managed Markets (cross-border duties/tax). Carries a 6.5% fee per transaction.

Plus Variable Pricing
Plus variable fee threshold
When your monthly GMV exceeds the threshold ($800K–$1M depending on contract), Shopify replaces the flat monthly fee with a variable percentage of GMV — whichever is higher. The cap is $40,000/month. Verify your specific threshold in your Plus contract. Real-world billing data shows variable platform fees are charged consistently per transaction as a percentage of order value, regardless of which payment method is in use.
